Here is how it works. Each week you pick a NFL team that you expect to LOSE. If your team loses, you are a "WINNER" for that week and advance to the next week. If and when your pick wins or ties you are OUT of the pool. Advancing means that you will attempt to pick a losing team again the next week and on through the season. The last one(s) remaining in the pool win the jackpot.
THE RULES OF THE GAME
Your weekly pick must be emailed (Pool email address is
tom@mtsheppard.com) and received by THE COMMITTEE by midnight Pacific Time every Wednesday. If THE COMMITTEE does not receive your pick by the deadline it is an automatic disqualification.
One entry per person no married couples.
If you would like to enter the Losers Pool leisure time activity there is a one-time entry fee of $20. Your entry fee must be received at THE COMMITTEES office by Wednesday, Sept 5, 2001, and first weeks pick received by midnight the same day. When THE COMMITTEE receives your entry fee and pick your name will be added to the pool.

Pool goes through regular 17 week season and, if needed, play-offs.
Disputes are settled by THE COMMITTEE. Your recourse,
if you dont agree with the decision of THE COMMITTEE---- DONT ENTER NEXT YEARS POOL!
Entry fees received after 9/5/01 deadline will not be entered in pool (and late entrants will be lucky to get their money back). Every year THE COMMITTEE hears "the check is i-t-m". If this isnt clear reread "The Rules of the Game".
Current week picks and previous weeks winners and losers will be posted on Losers Pool Website by Thursday evening. If the picks are not posted on Thursday, keep your shirt on, and understand THE COMMITTEE has a life also.
Before you ask, yes, you can pick the same team to lose week after week. As long as your pick loses you are in the pool. FYIthis system has not produced a winner in the first 3 years of the Losers Pool.
It has come to the attention of THE COMMITTEE that some of you are unhappy with some of THE COMMITTEES rulings as evidenced by the following comments, "Are you the nasty commissioner again? Or a compassionate commissioner?" First of all, please understand that there is no commissioner, only THE COMMITTEE. Second, remember when you ask THE COMMITTEE for a favor (such as "Ill get my pick in on time next week") the next guy in the Pool goes NUTS!
